Kill the fetus
I think this whole preservation of life practice is getting slightly out of hand. Although I applaud science for being able to save, prolong and improve our daily lives, you have to admit that it really is getting a little too much. First of all, I am completely pro-choice. If a couple, or women are not ready to have children, that is their prerogative. Society should not people to have children when they clearly are not ready to. Of course, I'm not implying that all 16 year old mothers are bad parents but they would probably not be as well-equipped as an older woman.
Anyway, the reason for this post is due to a documentary I watched. I've enclosed a picture and video for your viewing pleasure.

They aren't alien babies, they just suffer from a condition that makes their skin grow in excess. Most babies don't survive, but of course some do. While I admire the children's bravery for facing their painful lives with the possibility of death looming over their heads, I have to honestly say that I'd have an abortion.
There, I wrote it. It may make you uncomfortable, this may lose whatever small number of readers I have, you may even flag my blog but someone needs to say it. Call me selfish, but I don't want to give birth to somebody who is going to be in constant pain for the rest of his/her life. You may say that all creatures have the right to life but has anyone considered what kind of life they may have when they grow up? These harlequin children will probably never have sex or have their own children. They need constant medical supervision to ensure their own skin does not kill them. Would you want any of your children to face that?
Of course there's the slippery slope argument. If we start at genetic disorder babies, where does it end? Only designer babies? Of course, this is stupid. There are gigantic leaps between the two. Huge. Destroying a life when it will constantly be in an insurmountable amount of pain each day from the beginning to the end is different from making all the world's children blonde hair and blue eyed.
Another thing to consider is euthanaesia. A person should be allowed to die if he or she wants to. We are not in a situation which requires us to fight for our survival so much anymore. Besides, what is a cancer-riddled person going to do? Copulate? How are healthy people supposed to understand how terribly cancer affects someone's life? A terminally ill patient may wish to end his life painlessly, and who are we to deny him that?
Did you know that in Singapore, if you attempt suicide and fail, you go to jail? So if you want to die, you better make sure you do which I think is ridiculous. If I wanted to off myself and failed, I don't want to be put in a place where I wouldn't be able to go the way I wanted. That's bullshit. A person should have the right to end his or her own life if they wished, of course I say this within REASON. I'm not saying teenagers should commit suicide whenever they wished, I'm saying physically ill people in a constant state of pain should have the option, should they wish.
